When you travel, you should learn stuff. Unless, of course, you just want to hang out on a tropical beach and let your brain unplug. In that case, the objective is a soft place in the sand to lie back and cease anything but the most essential neuronal activity.

Milan is a great city…make sure you see The Duomo and walk around the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II…a fabulous galleria filled with fine shops, great restaurants and cafes, Teatro all Scala, the famous opera house. My favorite restaurant: Il Carpaccio…fabulous. Don't forget to spend sometime in the shopping district! It is an easy train ride up to the Lakes. My favorite city: Varenna on the lake. Charming, quiet, beautiful. Then I would take the train to Florence, spend 2-3 days there (Favorite restaurant: Il Perfetto), an then on to fabulous Rome, my favorite city in the whole world. There are not enough words to tell you…but everywhere you look there is a piece of history staring back at you. Do not miss St. Peter's, the Colloseum, the Appian Way. And I am very angry now because I cannot think of my favorite restaurant there…uhhh…I will try and find out from my friend…but in all Italy it was the best. Have fun…Italy is the most marvelous place.
