best dinning:
there are varities try these websites they will help:
http://www.yallabina.com/ (btw, yalla bina means let’s go)
or
http://www.yellowpages.com.eg
dress code:
no common dress codes unless you are heading to the cairo opera house!
customs & safety:
Egyptians are very friendly generous religious people
but here’s what you should not try:
- in shopping areas or when going for walks try wearing cloth that are not too short or bare
- if entered a mosque, take off your shoes but keep it in a safe place
- always use the Cairo taxi caps service by phone, dont try to go there and just wave for a taxi, he will over charge you
- try learning some simple arabic words for daily life
You can google for more tips
best time to travel:
depends on what u prefer, for example
Nov/Dec to march: cold or medium weather, best time to go luxor and aswan
march and april are spring good weather but windy sometimes
may to september is too hot, best time to go to sharm el sheikh and hurgada
Cairo is the city that never sleeps! so visit any time of year
Enjoy!
Don’t wear clothes above your knees or elbows! Stay away from teen age boys! Good luck!
